Wilderness First Aid for Teens and Youth Club Parents - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

An accredited Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course hosted by the Seattle Mountaineers Youth Clubs exclusively for student members of MAC and parents of the younger youth clubs. Youth must be 14 years old in order to participate. Please see leader's notes!

Plan on two full days starting at 8am, running to 5pm. You must stay for the entire course and will not be awarded the badge for partial attendance. More details will be released within 2 weeks of the date.

NOTE: This WFA course is reserved for students of The Mountaineers Adventure Club and parents of the other Seattle Mountaineers youth clubs. Registration is freely available for MAC students but adults must request a spot in order to be screened for youth club parents only.

If there is space remaining in this WFA within two weeks of the start date, we can accommodate guests. 

Wilderness First Aid is a national certification that Outdoor Educators and Guides renew every two years. This course is offered specifically for teenagers who spend time outdoors or want to pursue Outdoor Education.

Learn First Aid for: Hiking, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, XC Skiing, Rafting, Snowshoeing, Camping, Kayaking

Led by Remote Medical International

For youth club parents: Registration is capped at 15 but parents of youth club members working towards leadership certification are able to participate. Reach out to carlm@mountaineers.org to be offered a spot on the roster. 

For MAC students, WFA is a prerequisite for: Backpacking trips, backcountry ski trips, alpine rock climbs, and glacier climbs.
