Meet at 9 AM Sunday at the campground entrance of Ocean City State Park on the road to Ocean Shores.
This hike is part of the Ocean City State Park Car Camp on the weekend of September 7 and 8, consisting of a day hike around Damon Point on Saturday, camping Saturday night at Ocean City State Park and day hiking Sunday in Griffith-Priday State Park. Anyone registering for this hike must also register for the Ocean City State Park hike on Saturday September 7, and camp with the group Saturday night at Ocean City State Park campground. Leader permission is required to assure compliance with this requirement. A complete description of the car camp is posted on the Tacoma Branch calendar.
Sunday morning after breaking camp, we will drive to the parking lot of Griffith-Priday State Park to begin the hike. A Discover Pass, or campsite receipt, must be displayed by each car parked there. We will then hike four miles up and down the spit, with a rest stop at the quiet end of the spit, where one can commune with nature. Then we will return to the cars and stop at the nearby popular Green Lantern Tavern for lunch.
