Wildflowers of the West: Drawing and Painting with Molly Hashimoto

Trip Report

Artist and author, Molly Hashimoto, led us through a series of exercises in drawing and painting of  wild flowers of the American West, sharing techniques and materials with the audience.  We drew and painted species from various ecozones, including paintbrush, lupine, and beach morning glory. Molly also shared some of her original art and sketchbooks from the book.

For Mountaineers that are interested in upcoming opportunities to see and hear Molly and her work, she will be exhibiting at the Elisabeth C. Miller Library at UW from November 4-December 29, with an opening demonstration on Thursday, November 6, from 1:30-3:30, of woodblock printmaking techniques.  She will also be presenting at the Tacoma Program Center on December 2.  Thank you, Molly, for a wonderful morning and workshop!

Seattle Branch will be offering two more in-person events this winter.  Our December Book Club will be on December 9th, and our January Book Club will be on January 9th.
