Redesigning Outdoor Education: Video editing for Mac using iMovie

A series focused on using online tools to transition outdoor courses to a hybrid model. This workshop will walk Mac users through the basics of using the free iMovie editor to make simple videos.

About this session

Learn to use iMovie to make your own videos. During the session, attendees will follow along to make their own simple video using iMovie. By the end of the session, you will have a completed movie ready for sharing!

Once registration closes, video clips will be provided beforehand as well as a pre-work video tutorial.

To attend this workshop:

  • You must have an Apple computer such as Macbook, iMac, or other apple computer. (If you are a Windows user please consider  our session on using Microsoft Video Editor)
  • Watch the provided tutorial video to get familiar with iMovie
  • Download the video clips that will be sent out in advance of the session

This session is intended for course leaders and committee chairs who are working to redesign existing courses - or imagine new courses - during Phase 2 and even Phase 3 of our COVID-19 operations. The first 60 minutes of the session will be a workshop with some discussion, and the last 30 minutes will be reserved for an optional Q&A and problem solving. This session will be recorded and available for viewing at a later date.

About this series

This series will focus on using online tools to transition outdoor courses to a hybrid model. Staff will share their own successes and learning from the past several months, and invite volunteers to do the same. Our hope is to bring together volunteers from all branches and activities types in a collaborative conversation. All sessions will be recorded.
