Tacoma Mountaineers Summer Camps

Tacoma Mountaineers Summer Camps

Join us at the Tacoma Branch for a week filled with climbing, wilderness skills, fun, and adventure!

2019 Schedule

July 8-12 Rock & Ropes Week: A fun-filled week focused on building basic rock climbing skills! Students will learn to rock climb, belay, tie climbing knots, rappel, prusik, and will enjoy an outdoor climbing session on real cliffs in North Bend.

July  15-19 Mountaineers at Mt. Rainier Week 1: This week includes 3 nights of overnight camping at our Irish Cabin Property near the NW corner of Mt. Rainier National Park. On Monday, we will meet at the Tacoma Program Center, learning outdoor skills, getting to know each other, and preparing for our trip. Then Tuesday, we're off to the mountains! We'll be spending our days hiking in the Carbon River and Mowich areas, and our evenings around the campfire enjoying songs, games, and hearty meals!

July 22-26  Survivor Week: An exciting week filled with tons of outdoor activities, including climbing, hiking, map and compass training, camp cooking, wilderness first aid, fire and shelter building, and learning about our local geology and ecology. Students will take a one-day field trip to hike in the Cascades.

July 29-Aug 2 Mountaineers at Mt. Rainier Week 2: Our second week at Rainier will be similar to the first, except that it will be a full 5 days and 4 nights at our overnight camp. We'll be planning different hikes and activities to keep things fresh for those who enroll in both weeks. Monday drop-off and Friday pick-up will be at the Tacoma Mountaineers Program Center.
