Trail Emergency Preparedness/First Aid

Learn First Aid and Emergency Procedures to promote safety while on the trail. This is designed to give some tips to staying medically safe while in our PNW woods. Also this fulfills one requirement to becoming a volunteer hike and backpacking leader.

This class is designed for those wanting trail first aid training, but unable to participate in Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or Mountaineer Oriented First Aid (MOFA) classes.  I am a physician who has completed MOFA and WFA but because of the limited scope of this course, you will not obtain any special certification or badge

General topics covered include:   Prevention of illness and injury, Assessment and treatment of common illnesses or injuries, Recommendations concerning items  for a personal first aid kit.
