Enjoy plenty of beach to hike on during this Low tide. We will have lunch and spend an hour or so at the Light House. Bring Binoculars if you like, there are lots of birds, and activity on the water to observe. Our pace will be around 2 mph with time for stops along the way. Hiking boots or sturdy shoes are recommended, for hiking in sand and uneven surfaces.
You may want to consider spending a night or two in the area. There are options at nearby Campgrounds and Hotels. I'm leading a Glines Canyon hike on Thursday, join me if you can to make the most of the long drive.
I will likely be car camping at the Dungeness Recreation Area on Wed night in my van. If you would like to set a tent up at my site there is a $10 fee contact me ahead of time. If you would prefer your own site there are 24 first come, first served sites or you can reserve a site ahead here The campground has nice bathrooms, potable water and showers! Read the rules of the campground at the top link, you need cash for the first come first served sites.
We will meet at 9am and plan to be on the trail by 9:15 am. We will meet at the large informational kiosk at the trailhead where you can pay your entrance fee. The fee is $3 per group (which includes up to 4 people). Bring some cash. Here is a driving link to the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge TH.
