Intro to Backpacking Field Trip - Lena Lake

Overnight Backpacking Field trip

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,300 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 mph

We'll start hiking at 8:30 a.m., so please be at the trailhead by 8:15 a.m.  Carpools are encouraged but not required.  If you would like to ride with me, meet at the  South Hill Park and Ride at 6:00 a.m. for a 6:10  a.m. departure.  The South Hill Park & Ride is located at  9th Street SW and 31st Avenue SW (formerly known as 94th Street SW and 104th Street E - the City of Puyallup incorporated the area, hence the new street names and confusion). This address should get you to the correct spot:  3300 94th Ave E, Puyallup, WA 98373.  This is the Park and Ride on the North side of Hwy 512, look for the red Ford Explorer.

Hello 2020 Intro to Backpacking Students!  This and other field trips are offered to help you meet the course requirement of taking two qualifying overnight trips.  Registration for the field trips will open up the day after the first lecture.   We suggest that you take this opportunity to review the field trips and think about which one is right for you.
