Right on the Edge: A Celebration of the Northwest Coast

Right on the Edge: A Celebration of the Northwest Coast

Public event - film screening hosted by Deep Green Wilderness

About this event

In 2013, on Swifture Bank at  the western entrance of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, researchers found a lone right whale.  Join Deep Green Wilderness and the crew of the sailing vessel Orion to learn why this whale sighting was so remarkable and to celebrate our beautiful Northwest Coast.

The evening will include a reception with live music performed by Mike Giacolino, a screening of the award winning film The Unknown Sea, A Voyage on the Salish and a talk by North Pacific right whale experts Dr. Phillip Clapham and Dr. Yulia Ivashchenko. Help us celebrate the Salish Sea, rare whales and the launch of our next film project.
