Summer Camp - Backpacking

Introductory 1-night backpack to Trout Lake in the Central Cascades!

Trout Lake is a great trip for backpackers of any level. The low mileage and elevation gain are great for first-timers and the beautiful scenery can be enjoyed by all. This camp is open to campers ages 10 to 14 and includes transportation, food, and group gear. Campers are expected to carry their personal gear and some of the group gear.

Day One - 1.5mi, 630ft elevation:

Campers will arrive at the Seattle Program Center on Monday morning at 9am. After introductions, a gear check, and a group meeting, we will load the cars and hit the road! We will hike into Trout Lake where we'll set up camp and spend the evening swimming in the lake, cooking a camp dinner, and playing games.

Day Two - 1.5mi, 160ft elevation:

Campers will wake up, help cook a hearty breakfast, break camp, and hike out to the trailhead. We will arrive back at the Seattle Program Center  by 3pm.

LOGISTICS:

  • Hike totals: 3-miles roundtrip; 534ft elevation gain
  • Registration opens February 1st
  • Drop off: 9am on Monday
