Overnight backpacking trip to Esmerelda Basin and Lake Ann for Seattle MAC program. THIS IS A NEW DESTINATION IN RESPONSE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS.

The trip will begin on Sat, Oct 9 at 8am at the Esmerelda Trailhead. Carpools have been arranged between drivers and passengers.

Drivers are advised to check the U.S. Forest Service website shortly before the trip for road alerts or closures that may impact access to the trailhead.  Every car parked at the trailhead must display a valid recreation pass.

Prerequisites: Attendance at at least one MAC hike or backpack within the past 12 months. Students must have demonstrated fitness throughout other MAC activities and may be asked to answer certain questions to give the leader an idea of their fitness/ability/experience level. This is a mentored trip for Matt Swenson. Birgit Grimlund will be the attending mentor and co-leader.
