Chiwaukum, Larch & Scottish Lakes
Explore the high lakes and alpine basins of the Chiwaukum Range in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. This is a multi-day backpack of 34 miles and 6,300 feet of elevation gain.
getting there
Drive US 2 to Chiwaukum (east of Stevens Pass) and turn onto Forest Road 7908. The Chiwaukum Creek Traihead is at the end of the road, ~0.25 mi from US 2.
suggested itinerary
Day 1 - Hike along Chiwaukum Creek to Chiwaukum Lake. Camp at Chiwaukum Lake (9.5 miles, 3,600 feet of elevation gain).
Day 2 - Hike to Larch Lake (2 miles, 800 feet of elevation gain).
Day 3 - Hike back to Chiwaukum Lake and then over McCue Ridge to Loch Eileen (7 miles, 1,100 feet of elevation gain).
Day 4 - Hike back to the trailhead (14 miles, 800 feet of elevation gain, 4,100 feet of elevation loss).
