Seattle MAC Alpine Climb - Mount Shuksan/Sulphide Glacier

An Alpine Climb lead by volunteers and/or staff for MAC! This trip has prerequisites. See leaders notes for details.

  • Elevation Gain: 6,500 ft

Meet at Seattle Program Center at 5:30 am to roll out by 6:00 am. 

Meet at Trailhead by 9am.

Prerequisites: 

For alpine rock climbs:

Skills/workshops: Multi-pitch systems, belay escape, rappelling, lead climbing / lead belaying

Other courses/trips: Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course/badge, Leavenworth Multi-Pitch trip / successful multi-pitch climb, Summer Trip / successful muti-pitch climb there

If glacier climb: In addition to all of the above: Crevasse rescue workshop, glacier climbing fundamentals (at least 2), Snow 1, Snow 2

In addition the technical skills described above, participants joining this trip may be asked to describe the physical preparations they have undertaken - this may include conditioning hikes, other easier climbs, weekly training routines, etc.
