We will meet at 8 am in the Crystal Springs parking lot.  The day will go from 8 am - 3 pm. Due to COVID-19 protocol, The Mountaineers team will not be providing any carpool opportunities and participants are encouraged to drive themselves to the trailhead. Pass conditions along I90 are highly variable depending on the weather and snow so an AWD vehicle is recommended. If  you don't have one, please email hannaht@mountaineers.org.

Other COVID-19 protocols will include wearing masks, small group size, and social distancing.

Sample itinerary:

8 am: Meet at Crystal Springs and get to know the group.

8:30 am-12 pm: Learn the basics of how to put on ski equipment and how to ski. Practice on the beginner trails. Take breaks to talk about teaching youth to ski, appropriate gear, and trail etiquette.

12 pm:  Eat lunch! Share experiences and questions.

12:30 pm - 2:30 pm: Continue to ski and practice our own skills. Take breaks to talk about trip planning, risk management, and outdoor games, among other topics.

2:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Make sure we get back to the parking lot, give our gear back, and have time to wrap up.
