Join fellow Junior MAC participants in the snow. We'll learn now to walk in steep snow, practice self arrest, and talk generally about snow safety as it applies to us.
IMPORTANT INFO
- Move uphill and downhill safely on snow.
- Maintain proper spacing while traveling with ice axes.
- Demonstrate basic plunge step and self-belay technique on snow.
- Perform seated self-arrest on low-angle slope (if safe conditions allow).
- Communicate fatigue, cold stress, or uncertainty early.
- Explain why turnaround times are critical on summit day.
