Seattle Explorers Mountaineers Lodge Weekend - Stevens Lodge

Explorers stay at one of the rustic Mountaineers Lodges for a weekend of snowy adventure.

  • Casual

Lodge weekends offer Explorer families the opportunity to explore new, snowy pursuits and provide a warm and welcoming home base to explore from. Lodge activities include: snowshoeing, cross country or downhill skiing, sledding, snow cave building, board games, etc. 

Meals are included.

  • Parking: No Parking passes required. 
  • Weather: NOAA
  • Road Conditions: AWD/4WD or carry chains may be required by WSDOT. Please check Stevens Pass report here
  • Guests: If spots are still available one week prior to the trip, email Alvaro Juarez to request that a friend or sibling be able to join.

    CLOTHES

    • Boots (insulated and waterproof) 
    • Gaiters (optional but recommended)* 
    • Warm clothing and extra synthetic layers
    • Long underwear top and bottom (synthetic) 
    • Wool or synthetic socks (multiple pairs!!) 
    • Liner socks (optional but recommended) 
    • Fleece or wool sweater
    • Waterproof shell (jacket with hood and pants) 
    • Waterproof gloves
    • Liner gloves
    • Set of PJ’s to wear in the lodge
    • Stocking hat (wool or synthetic) 
    • Brimmed cap 
    • Lodge slippers
    • Sleeping stuff

    GEAR

    • Snowshoes* 
    • Poles*
    • A helmet for sledding
    • Backpack for snow activities and carrying stuff*
    • Duffle bag to carry everything else
    • Sleeping bag and pillow case 
    • If sleeping in the lodge, just a lightweight sleeping bag and pillow case will do (mattresses/pillows provided by lodge)
    • If sleeping in a cave, bring two sleeping pads and a heavyweight sleeping bag*

    OTHER

    • Sunglasses

    • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste)
