Field Trip Mt Rainer - Sunrise
We will hike Sourdough Trail as far as Frozen Lake, then go down the trail toward Shadow Lake. We will head up to that Glacier View lookout before passing Shadow Lake and hiking back to Sunrise.

This trip is moderately easy, with less than 1,000 feet of elevation gain. We will take it slow, stopping often to discuss geology, trees, flowers, butterflies, and anything else that looks interesting.
Bring lunch, water, the ten essentials like rain gear, and good hiking shoes.
Meet at 9:00 AM at Sunrise by the restrooms. Each car needs a TIMED-ENTRY permit to enter the park through the entrance. The permit applications will open on 1 May, and you need to get one that day, as they sell out fast.
