Field trip: Mt. Rainier -- A Place of Joy, Reverence, & Humility

Field Trip Mt Rainer - Naches Peak Loop

Mt. Rainier National Park has many trails that lead to premier wildflower gardens. Expect to spend a whole day at this trip between the driving and the time hiking. This is the least challenging of the trips we will offer. This trip will concentrate on wildflowers and trees. We will also have a chance to discuss geology and see Mt. Rainier from afar.

Bring lunch, drinks, and rain gear. We will take it slow, doing a clockwise loop around Naches Peak. This direction will give us amazing views of Mt. Rainier.

No Time-Entry Permit is needed for this location. Be there by 8:00 AM to find a parking spot.

At the Trailhead at 8:00 am. Park at Tipsoo Lake, .5 mile west of Chinook Pass on SR 410. We need to get there early in order to find parking. This parking lot will fill up quickly on a weekend morning. We will meet near the restroom area and up the hill a little ways.
