Prospective Urban Walk leaders (a new activity) are invited to join a virtual, evening, pedestrian safety seminar. There is some short reading and viewing prior to the seminar.

Meeting place and time

Session is 7pm to 8:30. A Zoom link will be provided to registered students shortly before the seminar.

Leader's notes

The seminar is in addition to the regular Mountaineers New Hike Leader seminar. The focus will prepare Mountaineers to lead Urban Walks that anticipate and manage risks and opportunities unique to urban and suburban settings.

Preference for registration to current hike leader and to those who have completed all Urban Walk Leader requirements excepting the seminar and a mentored urban walk

Seminar provides brief, real-life, pedestrian safety scenarios often encountered by Urban Walk leaders.

A collection of reference materials for use by prospective Urban Walk leaders will be provided prior to the seminar.

Instructors will ask for participant feedback as this is a new activity.
