CHS 1 Hike - Jester Mountain

We'll meet at the Issaquah Transit Center at 8:00; consolidate into a couple of carpools and drive ~93 miles to the trailhead. Estimated travel time is 1 hour 40 mins. Please plan on reimbursing your driver $9.60 - $14.00 per person.

Yet another great Teanaway area hike with expansive views.

There isn't a route specific to Iron Bear on the Mountaineers Website. So, I've select the Jester Mountain route. Iron Bear is on the way to Jester.

Google map directions can be found, here.  We'll turn off US-97 on to FS9714 driving  ~3 miles to the trailhead. FS9714 appears to be in good shape although there is a water crossing just before the TH.  The latest trip report doesn't call it out as a hazard. 

Please do not make any evening commitments. This will be a long day, 3hrs driving and 3-4 hours of hiking. I expect we'll get home around 4:00 or later if we stop for dinner on the way home. It's a drag when someone has to be home by a certain time.
