  • Mileage: 3.2 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,100 ft

We will meet at the trailhead on SE 79th (just east of the Tiger Mountain entrance gate) to be ready to leave at 5:00pm.  Sunset is at 5:11pm so we will be traveling up and down in the dark.

This is a conditioning hike for students in the Basic Glacier Travel Course. Make sure you carry extra batteries for your headlamp.  Micro spikes advised due to the uncertainty of the trail conditions.

Since this is an early season conditioner, it is a good time to try out new gear (boots, pack).  Also, a good time to assess your conditioning level.  Extra training weight is not required, but do so as feel comfortable with.

This will be an all weather event.  Short of a full on monsoon, this trip will go.
