The Hard Snow module is required the same year you take the Ice Modules. If you previously completed Hard Snow but had a break before taking the Ice Modules, you should strongly consider retaking it, though it is not officially required.
Participants for the Ice Modules should already possess foundational skills in multipitch rock climbing and rope rescue, as this experience is crucial for safely engaging with the advanced techniques taught. If your sole exposure to multipitch climbing is from the Rock II module, it's strongly advised that you gain more experience before signing up for the Ice Modules.
