Sunday Afternoon Salmon Safari - Kitsap Forest Theater

Join us November 12, Sunday afternoon, from 1-3pm to celebrate the return of salmon to Chico Creek with The Mountaineers Players at the Kitsap Forest Theater!

  • Casual

The group will meet at the Yurt at the Kitsap Forest Theater at 1pm.  This Salmon Safari runs from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Join Kitsap Forest Adventure Camp's Julie Shusterman for a fun and informational adventure in the forest and at Chico Creek. Every year during November, seagoing salmon migrate from their feeding grounds to the rivers and streams of their birth. Chico Creek is the largest chum salmon run in Kitsap County.

Hike down to the Kitsap Forest Theater for stories and fun.

Explore Chico Creek and see the returning salmon swimming upstream to lay their eggs where they were born.

Learn about the life cycle of the salmon, and other inhabitants of the forest. Learn about the Suquamish Tribe's efforts to protect this salmon habitat.

Wear hiking shoes and dress for the weather. This is an outdoor adventure and it could be raining!

Youth under 5 years of age may attend for free.
