A field session where we will practice and refine climbing self-rescue techniques for an injured follower or leader who is unresponsive and unable to be lowered while in high angle, multi-pitch terrain.

Field session where students will execute rescue of a second who is unable to advance the climb and may be unresponsive and unable to be lowered. Second iteration for the second to advance to and rescue a fallen leader who may be unresponsive and unable to be lowered.
Meet up at the Gold Creek Trailhead at 7:30am ready to do a morning brief and head up the trail. Expect to be back to the cars around 3pm.

Required Equipment
Standard rock climbing equipment including:
- Harness
- Helmet
- 6-8 locking carabiners
- 4-6 non-locking carabiners
- 4-6 alpine draws (can employ non-locking carabiners listed above)
- Belay Device
- Gear adequate for establishing an extended rappel
- Cordelette
- Cordage adequate for constructing a Load Releasing Hitch
- Progress Capture Pulley (Optional)
- Lightweight Ascender (Optional)
Bring the gear you would have on your harness and we will apply it to the problems. You rescue with what you have on your harness.
