Climbing Conditioner - Mount Washington (Snoqualmie)

Priority to Everett Basic Climbing Course students and grads. One of a series of hikes to help you get confident and fit for the summer.

  • *Varies*, Strenuous, Winter Scramble
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,200 ft

Our goal is to build a solid base leading up to the summer climbing season.  If you want to bring extra weight to carry, then go for it.

My objective is always to lead a hike inclusive of varying fitness and body types.  The goal is to travel at a pace that will help us build our aerobic base as opposed to racing for time.  That said, the trail climbs continuously with over 3200 feet of elevation gain.  I will hike upwards between 1.5 and 2 mph.  On the way down I will move closer to 2.5 mph for an overall average of 2 mph or more.  If you have concerns before or during the hike, then I welcome and encourage you to ask questions.

Eastgate P&R at 7:15 or the trailhead at 8 AM.

eastgate park and ride - Search  Eastgate is a large P&R.  We will meet in the southeast corner of the lot of the east side of the parking structure (under the 142nd Pl SE bridge).

The trailhead coordinates are 47.4420-121.6722.
