Bikes & Brews Series- Bikepacking Newfoundland T'railway with Philip Ouellette
Join us in March for this fabulous presentation on the Newfoundland T'Railway. Philip Ouellette will share route information, photos and stories from his bikepacking trip on the Newfoundland T’Railway”, a 550 mile route that crosses the scenic open country of Newfoundland from east to west along an unpaved railbed. The route takes you through a stunning mix of often damp, open, and expansive terrain, as well as vibrant urban cities, on the journey between Channel-Port aux Basques and St. John’s.

Marilyn Thompson, Don Thompson, and Lisa McPeak describe their separate trips and recent routes in Scotland, suggesting various ways of planning a Highlands or Lowlands excursion.

The South Sound Leadership Conference is a fun day of professional development dedicated to thanking, inspiring and empowering the Mountaineers’ current and aspiring volunteer leaders.
Scrambling Skills Workshop - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center
Practice rock and snow skills in a controlled environment at the Seattle Program Center to prepare for your field trips. 6-9 pm
Mountaineers Table at Summit, Myths & Music Concert
An Auburn Symphony Orchestra performance featuring the world premiere of It Stands Alone by Stephen Lias, 2024 composer in residence at Mount Rainier National Park. Mountaineers volunteers will be onsite with information about our programs and community.
SEA Hike & Backpack Leaders Spring Potluck
Plan on a fun evening of food and drink with your fellow trip leaders! Adult +1s and prospective leaders are welcome.
Introduction to Extended Backpacking
For backpackers with experience on shorter trips, this evening seminar helps to bridge the gap between weekend trips of 2-3 nights and longer trips of 5-8 nights, including how to prepare and pack gear, clothing, and food. Experienced long-trip backpackers will share their experience and show you how they pack for various long trips around the Northwest.
