Lake of the Angels

Ascending 3,400 feet in elevation in a short 4 miles, this hike is serious climb shortly after the beginning. You will be rewarded for efforts along the way with views of Boulder Creek, Mount Skokomish, Whitehorse creek, Mount Pershing and Hood Canal and a open basin lake at the end.

on the trail

Start on Putvin trail traveling alongside boulder creek, but don't be fooled by gradual ascent.  As you enter the forest, the climb gets serious and winds up at a rock head wall, which will require you to use handholds to ascend this brief section.  A high cirque lake in the Valley of Heaven awaits you as a reward for your efforts.
