Give the Gift of a Corporate Match

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Mountaineers relies on both philanthropic support and the dedication of our volunteers to help us deliver on our mission and get people outside. When you take advantage of your employer’s Workplace Giving Program, you maximize the impact of your volunteer hours, charitable donations and membership dues and can double, sometimes triple your impact!

WHAT'S ELIGIBLE FOR A CORPORATE MATCH?

Depending on your employer’s Workplace Giving Program, the following opportunities could be eligible for a corporate match:

      • Volunteer hours for courses, activities and committees. Virtual committee meetings, planning future courses, preparing online curriculum, and hosting virtual events are also matched! Organizations typically provide $10-$25 for every hour an employee volunteers. Learn how to record your volunteer hours then submit for a match to double your impact.

      • Individual donations made on our website, gifts made through automatic payroll deductions, or at any of our fundraising events. If you are considering a year-end gift and submitting it for matching, you can give online here.

        • Adult, Family & Peak Society Memberships. All Mountaineers membership types are eligible for a 100% tax-deduction and qualify for a corporate match.

Corporate matches are a great way to join our Peak Society Membership – a distinguished group of individuals who support our mission with a gift of $1,000 or more annually. As a thank you for your elevated support, we host a number of exclusive Peak Society events to engage with influential leaders in the outdoor recreation and conservation communities.

    IMPACT FOR THE MOUNTAINEERS

The power of Workplace Giving Programs continues to amaze us. Since our blog post last December, 183 members raised over $202,000 in additional funds through corporate matches! These additional funds helped:

          • Support training and volunteer recognition for over 400 Super Volunteers and Key Leaders
          • Fund 75% of Conservation & Advocacy programs
          • Award 150 annual scholarships to youth and adults to participate in courses and activities
          • Serve 1,500 youth experiencing barriers to outdoor recreation through our Mountain Workshops program
          • Offer 12+ leadership development trainings for volunteers to enhance their outdoor skills and feel more confident as an educator

We hope you’ll join us in thanking our corporate partners who make this possible, as well as our members, volunteers, and donors who take the extra step to enhance their impact for The Mountaineers.

"Employer matching and boosts — like unlocking additional matching funds for achieving levels of active volunteerism — are a way I can magnify my impact where I am already directing my time and money toward a cause that's important to me."

    - Paul Brown, 6-year member

If you do not see your employer listed on our Workplace Giving page or have questions about your employer’s participation, please contact your Human Resource department. They can tell you what benefits you have and how to participate.

HOW TO SUBMIT FOR A CORPORATE MATCH:

When you submit your volunteer hours, charitable donations, and membership dues for a corporate match, please reference:

    Organization: The Mountaineers
    Tax ID: 27-3009280
    Address:
7700 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115
    Email:
    development@mountaineers.org

Protip: Using our Tax ID is especially important for companies with online-based verification systems. Some volunteers have shared that it can be tricky to find “The Mountaineers” since other organizations or groups with similar names may be listed. By using our Tax ID, you ensure that your gift will be directed to “The Mountaineers”.

After you submit for a corporate match, please email us or forward your confirmation email to development@mountaineers.org to let us know. We have recently experienced increased instances of corporate matches accidentally going to incorrect organizations, so this will help us verify that your match will be successfully directed to The Mountaineers.
