Winter Scramble - Scarface–Grand Park Traverse

Winter Wonderland on a snowed in Forest Road. Made it only to Lake Eleanor - Adding 8 ish miles of road walk to the TH out and back

  • Snow and ice on road

  • The forest road was bumpy - with snow on the sides till about 4-5 miles from the TH, where it was completely snowed in. We parked before the pull out at the last gate (in about 7-8 inches of snow). 

    Fresh snow, some skii marks and old tire tracks led us till the TH to Eleanor lake. From there we donned snow shoes, on fresh, fluffy powder

Turned around at Lake Eleanor , due to fresh snow conditions and added 8 miles of back and forth road walk , due to snow on road.

Had to shovel our cars out, as it was snowing and raining all day. Good work out and a great group!
