Winter Scramble - Mutton Mountain

We started from the White river trailhead (FS 7174).  While the trail up Mutton was in good shape, there were easily 12-15 different significant blow down's that we had to cross over, under, or around.  This made for a fairly unpleasant approach to the peak.  

We hit snow at 4600' but never enough to warrant using snow shoes.   There was maybe 4-6" of snow on the summit .

Weather was great, with fantastic views of Rainier and the Stuart range to the north.  

We left the trailhead at 8am and returned at 2pm.
