Winter Scramble - Mount Washington (Snoqualmie, winter)

Great conditioner, short drive, plenty of snow, but no views today.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Encountered continuous fresh snow from the pond onward.  We brought microspikes but the fresh snow was soft enough that we did not use them.  We did a lollipop loop, following portions of the Great Wall Trail and Olallie Trail on the descent.

It was a great day for a conditioning hike at nearby Mount Washington. Lots of snow and only a little rain. We went up the normal trail and then started our descent via the Great Wall Trail. Once we reached the intersection with the new Ollalie Trail we followed it back to the pond (large piles of wood debris blocked the rest of the Great Wall Trail) and then descended the rest of the route via the normal trail. A fun day for some conditioning and exploration. 10.5 miles, 3000' elevation gain, 5:45 car to car.
