Winter Scramble - Dixie Peak

Finally a snowy day up Mount Si & Dixie Peak.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Party of 5 did a loop: Si Old trail, Mount Si, took the road / trails to Dixie Peak (turned around 100 ft below the summmit due to blizzard / crazy wind kicking us over), took the Teneriffe road down until we met the Talus Loop cutoff which took us to Mount Si main trail, followed by Douglas Fir trail and Boulder loop section which brought us back to the lower section of Old Si Trail.

Continous snow started around 2500 ft. While deeper on the road / trails between Si and Dixie, we have never had to put snowshoes on but one more snowy day like today and they will definitely need to be used. We used microspikes on Dixie's summit ridge.

No hazards encountered on the route.
