Whitman Crest/Fryingpan Glacier

5/10/15--left Fryingpan Crk trailhead at 6:25 a.m. Trail mostly clear of snow until the bridge crossing the main creek. We travelled along the trail for .3 miles before ditching our boots and donning skis. We ascended a steep drainage just left of the main creek, avoiding the trail and switchbacks going to Summerland. The snow up to Meany crest was quite soft and steep. Whitman crest was virtually snow covered to the East; clear on the west. Summit at 1:30 p.m. The ski down was magnificent above point 7573, very heavy below. We tagged Meany on our way down. Back to car about 5:15 p.m.
