White Pass Nordic Center

Wonderful day at white pass. The snow was great. Very cold start at 6 degrees. It stayed cool all day with a little wind that dropped the mercury to below 0.My balaclava came in handy. They have done a great job of marking the snowshoe trails this year. Prior years the flagging was sparse at best.Ever one I passed had a smile. Warm food served across the street and bathrooms close by. Roads were icy in spots leading up from Packwood. There is a one lane traffic light where the slide took place and switches flow every 30 seconds. On the way back down we noticed that the setting sun and our descent down the mountain made the trees look like they were growing before our eyes. Kind of cool to share that experience with kids.
