Trip Report

Unicorn Peak/South Side

May 30th. Snow melted out until top of first gully. Crampons not needed but used on final pitch. Melt/refreeze is firming up conditions before sun hits the snow, so consensus use of crampons was appreciated for final pitch leading to the ridge. Moat crossing not difficult, but care required. Many climbers at base of the summit, so scramble route and handline/prusik strongly recommended to accomodate the volume of climbers. 8.5 hours.
