  • Day Hiking

Wildflowers were in abundance as our group of eleven hiked up the Umtanum Ridge trail on a dry and warm day. Arrow leaf balsamroot, Hooker's balsamroot, lupine, phlox, cactus and wild parsley were in full bloom. We attained the ridge in two hours and stopped for lunch on a nearby knoll which had incredible views of the Stuart Range, Mt Rainier and Mt Adams. We descended the ridge at the same time Trail runners were completing a 50K race. All of our group arrived safely back to the trailhead by 3:00pm.
