Trip Report
Stewardship - Windy Knob
We had a productive day removing "volunteer" trees growing on the roadbed on RD-7245. We cleared the section between the creek that flows from Windy Gully up to the junction to the Sidestep trail. We then walked up to the Glen Bandy memorial tree to take in the view an have some lunch. Partial views of the Enchantments -- mostly clouds obscuring -- but some smoke from the Labor Mtn Fire.

We parked where RD-7245 leaves HWY-97 -- room for maybe 6 cars here. RD-7245 mostly clear up to where it crosses the creek draining Windy Gully -- we cleared volunteer trees from there to the junction with the Sidestep trail. RD-7245 from there to the end at the Glen Bandy Memorial tree has a half dozen fire weakened trees down across the trail that will need bigger saws to be removed.
