Stewardship - Palouse to Cascades Trail

Trimmed edges of trail between Kechelus Dam and Roaring Creek Campsite We removed branches intruding

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

Original plan was to work in the Blewett Pass area -- but forecast snow at Blewett Pass and wanting to avoid any traffic tie ups on I-90 due to the oversized load damaging the Exit 80 overpass -- using Tim Beckers guidance we choose to work on the P2C.

We removed fir tree seedlings and other small volunteer trees that had started in the trail bed at the edges.   Either nipping them using loppers or pulling small tree out of the trail bed gravel.   We also trimmed overhanging branches that we starting to intrude on trail right of way.

We got lucky on the weather conditions -- during the drive over Snoqualmie Pass there were periods of intense rain -- but when we parked where Lost Lake Road crosses the P2C it was only raining lightly.    After about an hour the light rain stopped and it stayed dry -- until we were driving back over Snoqualmie Pass -- were we hit some heavy rain between MP 55 and MP 50.
