South Early Winter Spire/South Arête

6 climbers left parking lot at 7am and were first on the route. Still lots of smoke from fires which obstructed views all day. Generally good conditions for this climb. No snow. Did not encounter any other groups and had the summit to ourselves. The summit was swarming with flying ants so we didn't hang out there very long. Encountered numerous parties climbing the SW Rib and one group (behind us) climbing the route we were on. Shared rappel with two other climbers and everything went smoothly. Many goats which indifferent to us. Quite hot later in the day. 9.5h RT.
