Sol Duc River Packrafting

Section: Riverside (48.06090, -124.13216, road side access) to Hilstrom Road Boat Ramp. The takeout is at a small concrete boat ramp at the dead end of Hilstrom Road.

    Length: 7.7 miles

    This section is a lot more mellow than the previous section immediately upstream. It is mostly class 1+, with a couple of class 2 or 2- rapids as well. Again very scenic, with huge hemlock, fir, and big leaf maple trees. Saw two more wood ducks which is always a treat. Also a lot fewer wood hazards on this section. Plus this section has a lot of fun surf waves.

Easy parking at the Riverside access put in location.
