Snowshoe - Big Four Coal Creek 2/1/25
Snowshoe on 2/1/25 from Deer Creek to Big Four Rec Area. Great snow. Should have XC skied!

Excellent for snowshoeing. Fresh snow overnight (1/31-2/1) and on Saturday 2/1 dumped 6-10".
On Friday, 1/31/25, the road past the gate was bare with some slush. Snow on Friday night and Saturday dumped about 6-10". We intended to go to the Ice Caves viewpoint but decided that since visibility at that time was about 30 yards and the cloud/snow ceiling was very low we wouldn't be able to see the caves or Big Four. We shoed about 1/2 mile from the picnic shelter toward the caves and turned around.
This would have been a good ungroomed ski trip but not all of our party had XC skis so we all shoed.
