- Guye Peak, Snoqualmie Mountain & Cave Ridge (Alpental)
- Scrambling
- Successful
- Road suitable for all vehicles
Was not going to write a report but see some are interested. This is not an easy trip unless you have climbing gear (axe, gaiters, boots) and traction devices in the morning going up the steep slope. There is no trail to follow currently. Wait until Summer if not prepared, then you can follow the trail. We left Alpental at 0900 and went up too far north (left track on map) so had some route finding problems. Head up to the right of the waterfall seen above (shown on Map at end of Flickr photos).
In the afternoon, when coming down, snowshoes could help with the deep, soft snow.
Snow starts right at the parking lot in Alpental.
Found an axe above Alpental about 100' above parking area, while heading down.
Name it and its size, and claim it.
