Trip Report

Slippery Slab Tower/Northeast Face

This last chance effort to help a few students graduate worked out perfectly. Partly sunny, cool temps, but not too cold, and no wind. Team of 6 left the TH at 8am, made Trap Pass by 10:30. Set up a handline for the first scramble pitch, just for the comfort of students, but probably could have done without. Rock was dry and route was in good shape. Climbed one pitch and then scrambled to the top. There are no more rap slings around the tree - a double rope rap from a large boulder (which seems to be attached to the mountain) will get you back down to the top of the scramble pitch. One more single rap from there gets you to the ground. Left the base of the climb at 3pm, arrived at cars at 5:40pm.
Trail is a little muddy in places. Plenty of water available on route.
Great to squeeze out an alpine climb this late in October!
