Sea Kayak - Saddlebag Island
Beginning at Seafarers Park in Anacortes, we crossed Guemes Channel, then around Casperson Point to Huckleberry Island where we had lunch. Due to physical limitations of one participant, we returned to Seafarers instead of going on to Saddlebag Island.

We experienced a wide variety of wind and wave conditions. We started off in a +/-6 knot wind to our backs that increased as we crossed Guemes Channel. Small boat traffic caused a variety of wave conditions. When we turned around Casperson Point, we were sheltered from the wind and we had calm water. On the return trip, we had less wind than the first crossing, but encountered much variety in wave conditions, mostly due to small boats, from calm to very rough, as well as uprising waves due to wind blowing opposite the tidal current.
