Sea Kayak - Hood Canal: Dewatto to Holly

A pleasant way to spend a day in a peaceful, scenic setting with little boat traffic.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  •  The launch site for this trip is not an official launch site.   It is the site of an abandoned property and is commonly used by the public for day use.  Check for low tides before launching here - Dewatto Bay is very shallow and should be paddled during a mid tide or greater.  The destination for this one-way trip was a private property in Holly.  You could put out by the shore of Anderson Creek about 1/2 mile north of Holly, where there is ample roadside parking.

We crossed over to the Hamma Hamma delta and back - saw lots of seals and eagles.  Stayed mostly on the east shore of the Canal for best views of the Olympics and because it’s roadless and quieter.
