Sea Kayak - Boston Harbor Vicinity

Wednesday evening paddle launching from Boston Harbor. Route determined at launch based on conditions and paddler experience.

  • There was a low tide of 3.6 ft at 4:00, and a high tide of 14.3 ft at 10:30 PM, with a current of 1.6 kts in Dana Passage starting about 7:00 PM.  Windy was about 3 kts, with up to 4 to 5 kt gusts out of the west.

Had a good paddle from Boston Harbor Marina. In addition to myself, there were 5 participants. We paddled toward Brisco Point, then, after experiencing a bit too much turbulence in the main channel for one of the paddlers, we headed toward Little Fishtrap.  We then paddled into Big Fishtrap, then back to Boston Harbor Park – arriving back about 8:10.
