Trip Report

Sahale Peak/Quien Sabe Glacier

Start from trailhead: 3:30 am.
Car-to-car: 13,5 hours.
Car to col between Boston and Sahale: 6 hours.
Climb and rappel: 4 hours.
Decent via Sahale Arm: 3,5 hours.
Minor creek crossings did not cause any issues, no need to step through water. We went the direct and steep route up the Quien Sabe Glacier. Navigated around a few open crevasses. Only placed one picket since the footing was solid with crampons on the hard snow. There was snow all the way to the summit. Very steep snow on the summit ridge protected with a running belay through five pickets. When reaching the summit, rope leads belayed their respective followers from the summit anchor.
