Royal Arches

5 minute approach from Ahwahnee Hotel parking lot. Roped up and started up at 8:20 as three-person rope team. Mix of belayed and simul-climbing through pitch 4, navigating 3rd and 4th class terrain with occasional 5th class sections. Caught up with another party, who let us pass on pitch 6. Moved efficiently through the pitches, occasionally linking shorter pitches (sometimes un-intentionallly). Paid a lot of attention to topo to avoid getting lost, as the route was often tricky to find. Reached the pendulum around lunch time. Was passed by a solo climber at this point. Route finding got trickier, but the rappel bolts at pitch 15 was reached at 1:50. Ten long rappels down to reach the ground, rescuing a lost team on the way. Enjoyed ice cream on the Ahwahnee hotel lawn, looking back up at the route.
