Rock Thunder Peak

Trip date: 1/13/2015

Route Conditions: Trail to Snow Lakes was icy and boot-packed. The basin below the peak was covered in iced over snow. Easy traveling. Snow cover was thin about 300' below the ridge, but didn't present any significant challenges. Once on the ridge, the route was a mix of exposed snow slopes and rock.

Equipment: Ice axes, helmets, and microspikes (crampons may have been the better choice, though).

Summary: 3 hours 40 min to summit; 2 hours 15 min to cars.
