Rachael, Rampart & Lila Lakes

Cool overcast weather. An early start meant fewer parties on the trail during the ascent. Much busier going down. The lakes were chilly with light wind. Didn't get sun until we were back at the cars mid-afternoon. Dozens of dogs on the trail; the vast majority were off-leash. On the talus field between Rachel and Lila Lakes, a lone marmot greeted us on the ascent and watched us silently on our descent. No bugs. Great group! Would be happy to hike with any of them again!
